Squash

Sligo Tennis Club is equipped with four Squash Courts (two with glass backs). The courts are in pristine condition having recently benefited from a refurbishment.

Booking Squash Courts

The squash courts are run through light meters; The cost is €3 per hour for light or €1 per 20 minutes. Heat can also be used at a cost of €1 per 30 minutes (heat is used to help prevent injury).

If accompanied by a non-member, a green fee must be paid, €10 for an adult or €5 for a child.

Suitable non-marking footwear must be used when playing squash – no black-soled runners allowed.

Goggles must be worn by children when playing squash.

Club nights

There is a Ladder every Wednesday starting from 7pm. This involves groups of four people playing round robin matches with the aim of moving up or staying on top of a group. There are various squash tournaments with the Connacht junior and senior open every year.

Coaching

Coaching for juniors and adults is available through the Squash Coach, Patrick Quinn.

Coaching for juniors currently takes place on Thursday afternoons (children must be members).

Committee

The Squash Captain is John Kielty. (see squash notice board in reception for contact details)

There is a Squash Junior Committee headed by Tony Quigley and Mary Power. (see reception for contact numbers).
