Sligo County Badminton League Commences

At a recent meeting of Sligo’s County Badminton Association, this years County League was launched in Sligo. A new Men’s League has been added to the fixture list which includes 5 teams and kicked off last Friday with Rathcormac defeating Sligo Tennis Club with the youthful Jimmy Currid making a winning return to the court. The Men’s League continued this Friday and Calry defeated Sligo on a Score of 8/4 to move into joint first on 8 points.

We have teams from Boyle, Ballina, Skreen/Dromard and Sligo entering at Division 6 in a Mixed League with matches on a home and away system. The Division 2 Mixed League will also start soon and games will be played mainly on Friday nights.

The County are running a series of Open Nights on Fridays at 7.45pm for players of all grades, so dust down the old racket and come along for a friendly game at Sligo Tennis Club, any queries contact John Dolan 0876904563.
